Why I encourage my team to work from wherever they like
I read an article recently about why having a 16-minute commute or less makes you happier.
I can believe it. Apparently, a 28-minute commute (the UK average), is the equivalent of 27 work days a year commuting. That’s 2 more than most get for annual leave. The Office for National Statistics states that ‘commuters have lower life satisfaction, a lower sense that their daily activities are worthwhile, lower levels of happiness and higher anxiety on average than non-commuters’.
When I set up Progressive Travel Recruitment, I could have established a single UK office and hired recruitment staff to work 9-5 from that office.
